With less than 60 days left until Guam’s Primary Election, a survey of some 260 voters conducted by University of Guam Associate Professor of Public Administration Ronald McNinch delivered some insights on how some on the island might decide at the polls.
The sample size was split 50/50 between men and women voters and age splits were over and under 40-years-old.
Data was collected by UOG students who conducted in-person interviews with registered voters between June 5 and June 8 and focused on gubernatorial and delegate candidates.
Here’s how gubernatorial teams stacked up:
- Tenorio-Muña-Barnes, Democrat, 28%
- Terlaje-Perez, Democrat, 27%
- Ada-Calvo, Republican, 24%
- Blas-Okada, Republican, 17%
- San Augustin-San Nicolas, Democrat, 3%.
Here’s how candidates for Guam’s congressional delegate fared:
- Del. James Moylan, Republican, incumbent, 53%
- Former senator Mary Camacho Torres, Republican, 24%
- Former U.S. attorney Alicia Limtiaco, Democrat, 23%
Guam’s Primary Election is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 1. The General Election set for Tuesday Nov. 3.
